If you love dachshunds as I do, this is the event for you! The first Saturday of November is one of my favorite days of the year as that is the day I get to photograph them all day and be surrounded by wonderful people supporting the best cause ever-Dachshund Rescue! I met Alicia the President of DARE around 10 years ago and later photographed several covers for their yearly calendar as well as as the annual Doxapalooza event. In 2024 they moved the event to Keel Farms in Plant city-an amazing setting ! Last year for the first time I shifted from event style photography to taking portraits of the pups in the gazebo they have. Every year has a different theme. This year is Red White & Rescued.  For this post I thought I'd share some of my favorite photos I have taken over the years.

Below is the schedule of events for the day. This is truly the best pet related event I have ever been too-just being around so many adorable dogs and wonderful people is rare and then add the environment of Keel Farms property and an amazing variety of vendors and fun entertainment-I wish there were something like this every month! There are Wiener races, contests, music, auctions and many ways to contribute to this great cause.

I have been informed that all of the slots for my mini shoots at the Gazebo have already sold out! If you have not signed up but still want photos there are usually some no-shows or a few slow times where I may be able to fit a few more pups in so don't be afraid to ask me or hang around the area to see if you get lucky!
