What area are you based out of?
I live in the Carrollwood area of Tampa, Florida and am very familiar with the entire Tampa Bay area. I am always happy to schedule sessions in Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Tarpon Sprints etc. My mother lives just outside of Orlando and so I am also available for sessions in the Orlando area-I just may need a little more notice.
What is Included in the Price of your Basic Photo Shoot Packages?
Details are included under my services offered page for the different kinds of photo shoots I offer (different categories of portraits/pets/events etc.) But all of my photo shoots include a set number of fully edited Web-Resolution files. Many other photographers charge prices similar to mine but include NO FILES at all! All you are paying for with them is the the photo shoot itself and a gallery of proofs to choose from. While I very much want to earn a good living I feel professional photography should fall into the 'affordable luxury' category and have always included the photos you want in my packages. My $200 portrait package includes 15 Web-Res photos you can share on-line, via your phone etc. You may purchase prints/print products separately OR you can upgrade the files to HIGH RESOLUTION (printable) files. From beginning to end I spend generally 6-8+ hours per client between the shoot itself, consultation, editing etc just for these basic sessions.
All of my sessions also include a Facebook banner collage for the top of your Facebook Profile page-I put my website small on the bottom to help promote my business. I also blog my shoots, showing off my favorite images.
What does 'Fully Edited' Mean?
Below are a few examples of photos before and after being edited/retouched. I shoot large RAW files. The first image is the file when it come out of my camera into Lightroom. The 2nd version has 'basic adjustments' done in Lightroom (color correction, exposure, contrast, vibrance etc.) all of the proofs in the gallery I create from your session will have basic edits. The 3rd photo is a FULLY edited/retouched image. It has been taken into Photoshop and enhanced with various filters to truly give it an artistic and professional look. I zoom into portraits 100% and remove blemishes/reduce the appearance of wrinkles etc. I apply skin smoothing filters to make all of my clients look like models/movie stars -without going overboard. For my pet shoots I apply filters which bring out the detail in their fur. I usually pump up the color but I also present some photos in Black & White/Sephia when I think they look best that way. I sometimes spend 30 minutes+ per photo doing these edits-especially if there are a lot of stray hairs/background elements that need to be removed.
In your gallery of proofs I always choose a handful of my favorites and do full edits on them so you will see just how amazing the photos you choose will look! You are not obligated to pick the ones I have already edited-they are ones I may want to feature in my portfolio so it is to me worth the time to edit them.
Is there a minimum charge for Print Packages?
No! Recently I did some research on the 'best' Portrait and Pet photographers and in looking at their sites I was surprised to see many of them charging a 'minimum' of $350+ for print products. You may purchase as much-or as little as you like from me. My prints are done on professional luster textured paper. I recently found an amazing online lab to produce my canvas wraps that gives professional photographers great prices-I pass the savings on to you. We can meet in person to help you choose your prints or you may just tell me the file numbers, and sizes you would like. All print products are shipped directly to your home. My price list lists prints, canvas wraps and standouts-you may also purchase magnets, photo jewelry, greeting cards etc. I can design a large collage poster print of your favorite images, there are lots of options! Professional quality at affordable prices. I archive all of my files so there is no rush to purchase everything at once. If you would like to gift prints in the future-at Christmas or when you can afford to buy more just contact me.
What prints sizes require cropping?
Photos come out of my Canon 7D Camera proportioned so that if you order prints at 4x6", 8x12" 16x24" etc they will look exactly as they appear in your gallery (most of the time). A 5x7" print requires a small amount cropped off the long end-usually not an issue. However 8x10"s and 11x14"s require the equivalent of 2" cropped off of the long side-as I try to shoot as tight as I can this sometimes can result in the photo being 'ruined'. A way around this is for me to place a matching border around the photo with the original crop centered on the desired background size. If there is enough 'dead space' this is not necessary . Also FYI I have found that frames and photo mats overlap 1/4" around the edge of the photo. If when you order you prints I find that covering up 1/4" messes up the photo I will automatically take the time to put a 1/4" border around the photo so it will look the way you want it to when framed! An example of a standard and 8x10 crop is shown below. Often I will find several photos from each shoot that look great with a square crop and I may present them that way in your gallery. Square prints and canvas wraps are available in a variety of sizes and look great!
Why should I choose you?
Well I guess the number one reason is you like the photos you see on my site! Some others:
-I have been seriously studying photography now for 5+ years. I earned an Associate of Science Degree from IADT Tampa in 2010 graduating Magna Cum Laude. Since then I have continued to teach myself different types of photography. This is truly my passion.
-My personality. I am honest, genuine and easy to be around. While I will happily discuss with you all of your options for purchasing photo files and print products I am not a 'high pressure' salesperson. I worked in Retail Management for 15+ years and never liked this approach.
-I would like to be your go-to photographer for all of your photography needs. I am equally talented at taking portraits, of children, families, HS Seniors and Adults. I am currently working on becoming the best Pet photographer in the area and also have a lot of experience photographing a variety of events, from business conferences, to 5k's to weddings.
-It is important to me to personally connect with all of my clients which is why I include personal planning sessions if desired with all of my packages.
